Brief Description of LM7812

The LM7812 is a fixed 12V linear voltage regulator from the popular 78xx series, designed to provide a stable and regulated 12V DC output from a higher input voltage source. Manufactured by Texas Instruments and other major semiconductor companies, the LM7812 is widely used in power supplies for electronic devices, microcontroller circuits, audio equipment, and more.

Capable of delivering up to 1A of output current (or more with proper heat sinking), the LM7812 features built-in protection circuits including thermal shutdown, current limiting, and safe-area protection, which enhance its reliability and safety.
