 Description
The DIO58231A is an all-in-one motor driver
incorporating an N-channel H-bridge, charge pump,
current sensing feedback mechanism, current
regulation functionality, and protection circuits. Its
charge pump enhances operational efficiency by
enabling N-channel MOSFET half-bridge operation
and supporting 100% duty cycle drive capability.
Current sensing and regulation use an internal
current mirror design on the IPROPI pin. This avoids
the need for a large power shunt resistor, saving
circuit board space and reducing overall system
costs. Via the IPROPI current-sense output, a
microcontroller can detect motor stalling or load
changes. The external voltage reference pin (VREF)
independently sets the current regulation threshold
during startup and stalling, without needing input
from a microcontroller.
The EP-SOIC8/DFN2*2-8 package with a thermal
pad enhances heat dissipation, making it suitable for
demanding environments. Ideal for battery-powered
or high-reliability applications, the DIO58231A
combines robust design with advanced motor
control features.
